2 lbs lean ground beef
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
8 oz provolone cheese slices
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan to prevent sticking.
Cook the Veggies:
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms until softened and fragrant. Let them cool slightly before adding to the meat mixture.
Combine the Ingredients:
In a large bowl, mix together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, eggs, ground beef, sautéed vegetables, and panko breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Layer the Meatloaf:
Press half of the beef mixture into the bottom of your prepared loaf pan. Lay slices of provolone cheese on top, then cover with the remaining beef mixture, sealing the cheese layer inside.
