½ cup milk
½ cup very hot water
For the Swiss Meringue Buttercream:
9 egg whites
2 ½ cups granulated sugar
3 cups (6 sticks) salted butter, softened slightly but still cool
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
