1 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup pepperoni slices
1/2 cup diced bell peppers
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Additional Toppings:
Extra mozzarella cheese
Additional pepperoni slices
Instructions:
Prepare the Crust:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Roll out the pie crust and place it into a deep pie dish. Brush the crust with olive oil.
Pre-bake the crust for 8 minutes, then remove from oven and set aside.
Make the Filling:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
Add sausage, cooking until browned and crumbly. Drain any excess fat.
Mix in pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook until the cheese begins to melt and everything is well integrated.
Assemble the Pie:
Transfer the filling into the pre-baked crust. Layer on extra mozzarella cheese and additional pepperoni slices.
If desired, top with another pie crust, sealing the edges and cutting slits to release steam.
