Fried mini donuts

4 cups flour
6 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
method

Heat a deep pot with any vegetable oil such as sunflower, rapeseed, peanut, grapeseed, etc. over medium heat.
While the oil is heating in a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together until a dough forms.
On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a thick disk, then cut into even rounds with a cookie cutter. Alternatively, roll into uniform balls with floured hands.
Fry in hot oil until one side is golden brown and the other is cooked through but still pale, then flip and fry the other side until evenly golden.
Once cooked, transfer to a large bowl lined with paper towels. Cool slightly and serve with tea or sweet coffee. On the farm where I grew up we enjoyed them as is or with #igxogxa, also known as #tea reused from used tea bags or already made coffee granules. The kids weren’t allowed to drink real coffee or tea, but oh well, when they were kids! We loved igxogxa. It’s the closest thing to coffee and tea you can get.
