2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs (room temperature)
1 cup (240ml) whole milk
½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup (240ml) boiling water or hot coffee (for a richer flavor)
For the Chocolate Frosting:
1 cup (230g) unsalted butter (softened)
1 ½ cups (150g) unsweetened cocoa powder
4-5 cups (500-625g) powdered sugar
½ cup (120ml) whole milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
