Preheat oven to 400F. Place a rack over a baking sheet.
Step 1
Wash, dry and remove the ends of the asparagus.
Step 2
Peel the stalks, then sauté the asparagus in oil. Garnish with garlic salt and pepper.
Step 3
Wrap the bacon tightly around each asparagus stalk. Arrange the asparagus on the grill, seam side down.
Step 4
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if using.
Step 5
Top with breadcrumbs, if using.
Step 6
Bake for 10 minutes, then cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Flip the entire rack over and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the bacon is crispy.
