Apple Fritters: The Easy Homemade Recipe
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, 1/2 tablespoon powdered sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix with a spoon until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg until well blended.
- Mix the flour mixture with the milk mixture until just combined. In another bowl, toss apple cubes with cinnamon powder and 1 tablespoon powdered white sugar.
- Add the tossed apple pieces into the flour mixture and whisk gently until incorporated.
- Heat oil in a small pan and carefully add large dollops of the fritter batter along with apple chunks.
- Repeat the process, adding more batter at a distance of about two inches from each other.
- Fry the fritters until golden brown in color.
- Flip the fritters and fry the other side until golden brown.
- Flip the fritters again to ensure they are browned on all sides.
- Transfer the fried apple fritters to another bowl.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
- Dust the piping hot fritters with icing sugar before serving.
Tips:
- Crack the egg carefully into the milk to avoid adding any shell pieces. If unsure, crack the egg into a separate bowl first before adding it to the milk.
- You can prepare the recipe up to step 4 a day in advance and resume from step 5 when ready to serve.
